A 10-year-old kid named Kade Heisler went to a Calgary Flames game with a sign he made. He was talking about Dustin Wolf, the team’s goaltender. Wolf is actually the reason Kade started playing goalie himself.

Like any other kid would do in the stands, he held his sign up, yelled his heart out, hoping his favorite player might look his way. And Wolf did look. But he didn’t just wave or nod.

Before the game was over, Wolf walked over and handed Kade his actual game-used stick. The boy completely broke down. He started crying right there because he just couldn’t believe it was real.

Wolf could have easily looked past Kade as just another fan in the crowd. But he stopped and he acted on it. That one kind gesture made a little boy’s whole day and brought smiles to thousands of people around the world.
