For the last nine years, Eric Schmitt-Matzen has dressed up as Santa to spread joy around Kanoxville, Tennessee. A few weeks ago, a nurse called him from a nearby hospital and she said there is a very sick 5 year old boy who wanted to see Santa Claus. Soon he rushed in to the hospital where he met the boy’s family and gave them a toy for him. Schmitt Matzen sat down on his bed and had a pep talk. He gave him the present but the boy was so weak to open it. When he saw what was inside, he flashed a big smile and laid his head back down. Santa hugged the boy as the child died in his arms.
