In the spirit of the Christmas season, a time known for its joy, generosity, and sharing, one woman’s life was touched in an unexpected way.
This story is about Rose, a certified nursing assistant, who experienced an overwhelming surprise that brought tears of gratitude and joy.
Rose, living alone since her husband’s passing two years ago, has faced her share of challenges, including going without heat for the same duration. Yet, her spirit of generosity never wavered.
Rose is known for her selfless acts, often giving away what little she has, including her late husband’s clothes, to her patients in need. Her faith in God’s provision has been her constant support.
This Christmas, however, Rose’s usual role of giver took a turn. A news team, known for delivering anonymous gifts during the holiday season, chose Rose as their recipient.
The plan was to gift her a much-needed furnace, but upon learning that she already received one, they opted for something else. They surprised Rose with $2,000 in grocery store gift cards and a $5,000 check.
When asked about her acts of kindness, Rose humbly replied, “Oh uh, that’s supposed to be between me and God.” The magnitude of the gift left her speechless, tears streaming down her face.
Despite her needs, Rose’s first thought was for others. “There’s probably somebody that needs it more,” she said, affirming her belief, “God really provides for me.”
Ultimately, accepting the gift with heartfelt gratitude, she expressed her thanks to God, saying, “Thank you, Lord. Thank you.”
