Father Jon Bok was on his way to St. Andrew Catholic Church in Milford, Ohio, to celebrate the mass on the Catholic Feast of the Guardian Angels, when a SUV coming in the opposite direction went off road, leaped in to the air and almost crashed into the driver’s side of the priest’s vehicle.
“I did not know that that car went over top of me because I was looking ahead and it was to my left and above. And out of the corner of my eye I sensed something went by, but I just thought it was a bird or something like that.”
“It would have been a win-win either way. Heaven is going to be better than here,” Father Jon Bok humorously quips after he narrowly escaped death.
The priest was suffering from blindness on his left eye and was completely unaware of how close he had brushed with death that day until he saw the security camera footage. Apparently, the young man inside the SUV suffered a sudden seizure and lost control of his vehicle. Miraculously, the SUV also landed on all fours. The man was taken to hospital and was feeling himself alright.
The priest was baffled by what he saw on the security camera footage. He said that he could only scratch his head and say, Thank You, Lord! .”It is a miracle. I’m still here, and it’s a mystery why I am when you look at that darn video,” he added.
