Footage of a tsunami cloud formation in Ohio went viral on social media, and many people marveled at the beauty of God’s creation.
A video of the roll clouds, which looked like a tsunami forming in the sky, was widely shared. The video was uploaded with a caption that said, “I was under the impression it was a tsunami, I’ve never seen clouds like this before.”
This phenomenon, often referred to as the tsunami cloud in Ohio, was actually called a roll cloud. These types of clouds were characterized by a low, horizontal, tube-shaped formation and were a type of arcus cloud. When observed, these clouds appeared to “roll” on a horizontal axis.
The footage was originally shared on Reddit and later spread across social media platforms. Watching the video of this Ohio tsunami cloud formation might have made you think, for a split second, that tsunami waves were surrounding the houses in Cincinnati.
In the video, a young child could be heard asking his mother, “What is it?” Another little girl said, “Woah, look at that.”
It was a visual treat, leaving people wondering what exactly was going on in the skies. Jesus said there would be signs in the heavens and on earth before His return: “There will be signs in sun and moon and stars, and on the earth dismay among nations, in perplexity at the roaring of the sea and the waves” (Luke 21:25).
