The song was made popular by tenor Josh Groban and has been covered by many artists since that time.

The uplifting words of the song resonates with people around the world as it reminds us that there is a shoulder to turn to and a helping hand that we can hold on to.

When I am down, and, oh, my soul, so weary
When troubles come, and my heart burdened be
Then, I am still and wait here in the silence
Until you come and sit awhile with me

Siblings, Lindsay, Sarah, Emily and Matt comprise Southern Raised Bluegrass band. They were raised up in the Ozark Mountains and have blended their traditional music with multiple genres and their deep-rooted Christian faith.

You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains
You raise me up to walk on stormy seas
I am strong when I am on your shoulders
You raise me up to more than I can be

We are so blessed to listen to this beautiful cover of “You Raise Me Up” by the talented siblings of Southern Raised Bluegrass today. The words of the song remind us that God is always a present help for us and all we need to do is to depend on Him and give all our burdens and situations to Him and He will raise us up through the difficult times.

Verse of the Day

Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. — Philippians 2:9-11 (NIV)
