99-Year-Old World War II Veteran Gets Surprise Birthday Party At Doughnut Shop

Thomas House a World War II veteran and a regular customer at Rainbow Donuts in West Covina, California got the surprise of a lifetime there.

House is a regular at his favorite doughnut shop, where he is known affectionately as “Pops.”

He did not know that his family and friends at the shop had been planning a surprise party for him just before his 99th birthday.

It was a sort of farewell party for House as he was planning to leave town and go to live near his children.

But before leaving he promised to be back, and assured them all of free coffee and doughnuts for his 100th birthday.
