When a Christian content creator asked students what does agape mean most had funny guesses. But one student stepped up to explain this Greek word in a beautiful way.

When I first watched this clip I actually chuckled out loud at some of the answers. Austin Groft, a campus interviewer is walking around asking random students a simple question. He asks them what does agape mean and the responses are completely wild.
One person guessed it had something to do with grapes. Another thought it was a soccer term or a form of prosperity. Someone guessed it was a type of building. Another one even thought it was food. It honestly surprised me how many people have never heard this beautiful word before.
But then the video takes a really wonderful turn that truly warmed my heart. One student finally understands it and his explanation is just beautiful. He explains that agape is a Greek word because the ancient Greek language did not have another word to fully capture the deep love of Jesus.
This student describes how Christian love meaning goes way deeper than just passing feelings. It is an intentional choice we make every single day. The true agape love meaning is all about unconditional sacrifice for others even when it is hard. I absolutely love how he put it because it instantly reminds us of the ultimate sacrifice made for us on the cross. It is the exact kind of love God has for us.
Agape is the unconditional love of God. It is a love that chooses to serve and give without expecting a single thing in return. Hearing a young person boldly share this biblical truth gave me so much hope.
